🟥 How to work with Big Picture

🟥

This text is a reference. What types of text are available?

The Big Picture view in Leadtime ERP is available for every project and helps to maintain a visual overview of the tasks at hand. To open the Big Picture view of a project, select the desired project under the "Projects" menu item. There you will see a tabbed display with different views such as "Overview", "Products", "Tasks", "Total overview" and "Time spent". The "General overview" tab leads to the big picture view of the project.

The "Plan and prioritize" menu item also provides access to the big picture view. Here you can change the project via a dropdown in the header area to view the Big Picture view of different projects.

Structure of Big Picture

Notion image

1. summary / last comment

You can choose between "Summary" and "Last comment" via a radio button.

Summary shows the ticket summary on each card, while Last comment shows the author and the content of the last comment in the ticket. This makes it easier to see the current status of a ticket without having to open it.

2. scaling of the ticket display:

The view can be scaled from 50 % to 150 % via a magnifying glass symbol. The default value is 100 %.

This function is particularly useful for projects with many tickets, as more tickets can be displayed at once by reducing the size.

3. progress display in ring view

There are two progress bars in ring form on the right-hand side.

  • Tasks completed shows the percentage of completed tasks on the board.
  • Hours spent compares the booked hours of all tasks with the total number of estimated hours.

4. sorting the tasks by type

The cards are sorted by task type in the Big Picture view (e.g. "Feature", "Bug").

Each row represents a task type and can be rearranged via a "handle" (six small dots on the right-hand side) using drag-and-drop.

5. progress bar for each row:

Within each row, there are progress bars that show how many tasks have been completed and how many hours have been used compared to the estimate.

Interaction with Big Picture

The user can interact with Big Picture in the following ways:

Horizontal scrolling

The cards within each row are arranged from left to right and can be scrolled horizontally to view all cards.

Color status display of the cards

Each card has a status color:

  • Yellow for "New"
  • Orange for "In progress"
  • Green for "Completed"
  • Gray for "Backlog"
  • Red for "Feedback"

Details on each card

Notion image

Each card shows:

  • The title, icon and ID of the ticket.
  • A short summary or the last comment.
  • The status, priority, task type and project.
  • A deadline (if set) and a progress indicator for the estimated and elapsed time.
  • An icon for the number of comments.
  • A pipeline icon (green if the ticket is in the pipeline; gray if not). By clicking on the icon, the ticket can be added to the current pipeline.
  • Tags and the images of the most important users involved (right: currently responsible user, left: responsible stakeholder).

Prioritization through arrangement

Tickets can be moved by drag-and-drop, with tickets further to the left being prioritized higher. To emphasize important tasks, these should be moved to the beginning of the respective row.

Open detailed view of a ticket

Clicking on a ticket opens the detailed view of the ticket to obtain more detailed information.

Adding a ticket

New tickets can be created directly in the big picture view using the "Add task" button at the top.
