About tags

Notion image

Tags in work packages are used to facilitate the subsequent planning and organization of the resulting tickets. They allow work packages and their contents to be thematically labeled and these labels to be used in a targeted manner in the later work phase.

A special feature of the tag system in Leadtime is cascading: if a tag is assigned at a higher level - for example to a component or an epic - it is logically "inherited" by all subordinate work packages, to-do lists or test suites. This means that all elements within the higher-level structure can be easily found again later using this tag.

Tags enable a specialized division of work across projects

This structure is particularly helpful when companies handle several projects in parallel that are based on the same components. In practice, for example, there may be five different customer projects running simultaneously, all of which involve the creation of wireframes. The employee generally responsible for wireframes in the company can create a Kanban board filtered according to the tag "wireframes" and thus sort their tasks across projects.

The tags are therefore not only used for identification in the planning phase, but also for efficient task distribution and a better overview during operational implementation, particularly in the case of parallel projects and specialized teams.
