Create offer versions
🟩 Workshop 7: Creating offers with versions
This text is a guide. What types of text are there?
Create project quotes with versions
In Leadtime, you can easily create several quotation versions for a project - for example, if it is still unclear which services the customer will commission. A typical example: The customer would like to have a website created, but it is still unclear whether they will provide the content themselves or commission the text creation.
Initial situation

The agency is planning a website with five subpages. A product from the product catalog is used to create the text, which is billed by the word (e.g. €0.10 per word). Usually, 1,000 words per page are calculated - i.e. a total of 5,000 words.
An additional option can be selected:
- "Text is entered directly into the target medium " - surcharge: €0.05/word.
This results in a total price of 0.15 €/word or 750 €.
Step-by-step instructions
1. create first version - without text creation
- Navigate to Configuration in the project.
- Click on Create version and enter the name Version without text creation, for example.
- Confirm with Save.
2. create second version - with text creation

- Create another version - e.g. version with text creation.
- Click on Add product within this new version.
- Select the Text creation product from the catalog.
- Enter the number of words (e.g. 5000).
- Activate the desired additional option(text is entered directly in the target medium).
- Click on Import - the product is added to the project.
- Save the version.

You have now created two individual quotation documents in Word format - both contain different services and can be presented to the customer for selection.
This procedure supports clear communication with the customer and makes it easy to price optional services. Working with variants is particularly helpful for projects with open or optional service components.
