Structure of the view

The project overview is divided into the following columns:

  • Short names: Each project is given a unique short name. This consists of a three-letter abbreviation for the organization and a consecutive number, e.g. NEU-5.
    • The projects appear in the color assigned to the respective organization. This makes it easier to assign them in other views, for example in the dashboard or in planning tools.

  • Name: The full name of the project provides detailed information about the nature of the project. Optionally, you can assign an icon or emoji to the project to enable quick visual differentiation between projects.
  • Access: This column shows which access rights exist for the project. The letter P (for "Public") indicates that the project can also be viewed by guest users (external users) if they have the corresponding authorizations.
  • Value group: The value group distinguishes projects according to their relevance to the company's turnover. A: External projects that directly generate turnover. These projects are of the highest value to the company. B-D: Internal projects or work that does not generate revenue but is necessary for operations. These are categorized in lower value groups as they do not generate direct revenue but are still part of the business.
  • Type: Projects can be either ongoing or individual: Ongoing projects are long-term, unfinished projects that often relate to the ongoing support of a customer, such as support contracts. These projects run without a fixed end date and generate regularly billable services. Individual projects are clearly defined, one-off projects. They have a fixed budget and a defined completion date. Typical individual projects are customer-based orders that are billed and completed after completion.
  • Created on: The date on which the project was created in the system is displayed here.

Functions in the "Projects" tab

The following additional functions are available in the "Projects" tab:

  • Add project: You can use the Add project button to create new projects for the organization. This takes you to the project creation form, where you can specify all relevant information such as name, short name, project type, access and value group.
  • Quick search: You can use the search field at the top of the page to search for specific projects within the selected organization. This is particularly helpful if an organization has a large number of ongoing projects.
  • Filter options: You can use the Add filter function to filter the project overview according to specific criteria. For example, you can filter by certain project types, status, value groups or access rights to display only relevant projects.
