The "Uploads" tab in the project

In the Uploads tab of a project, you can store, organize and retrieve all project-related files centrally. This is particularly useful if many different documents are created in the course of a project - from contracts and briefings to meeting notes.

Leadtime provides you with a structured upload management system in which you can assign a description and a category to each file. This creates a clearly searchable document archive - directly in the project context.

Where can I find the tab?

You can find the upload tab within a project:

  1. Navigate to Projects in the left-hand main menu.
  1. Select the desired project from the list.
  1. Open the Uploads tab in the navigation bar of the project.

📄 What information is displayed?

  • Category: Assign the file to a topic or category (e.g. contract, briefing, meeting minutes).

Create a new upload category

You can use existing categories or simply create new ones by entering and confirming a term.

  1. Click in the Category field.
  1. Enter the desired name for the new category (e.g. logs, screenshots, contracts).

Edit and manage files

Uploaded files can also be edited later. Three options are available for each file in the right-hand column:

  • ✏️ Edit: Change the file name, description or category.
  • ⬇️ Download: Download the file to your computer.
  • 🗑️ Delete: Remove the file from the project.

This allows you to keep the file management up to date at all times - without version chaos or duplicate files.

Best practices for use

  • Use meaningful descriptions to be able to assign files quickly later.
  • Use categories to group files and filter them more easily later.
  • Keep your uploads up to date - especially in ongoing customer projects, it makes sense to upload every new version of a document and, if necessary, add a date note in the description.
  • Remember that you can also store sensitive or internal documents (e.g. internal briefings or schedules) here - they are internal to the project and not visible to external stakeholders.

Conclusion

With the upload area in Leadtime, you can save all project-related files directly in the context of the respective project - neatly organized, searchable and always up-to-date. This saves you the hassle of searching through email attachments or cloud folders and ensures that everyone involved in the project has access to the same, up-to-date information.
