Individual task status
🟥 Create individual task statuses to better map specific workflows in Leadtime.
This text is a reference. What text types are available?
The following task statuses are defined by default in Leadtime:
- New
- In Progress
- Closed (Closed)
- Backlog (backlog)
- Feedback
- Resolved
These standard statuses cover most common workflows that typically occur in software development projects. However, in some companies it may be necessary to define special task statuses that are better suited to internal processes or specific task types.
You can find the task statuses under Administration / Task settings.
Customization of task statuses

It is possible to create custom task statuses that are derived from the default values mentioned above. This means that each new task status must be based on one of the default values, but can be given its own name and icon to customize it to the specific workflow.
In the following example, status values are created for a task type in connection with design projects:
- "Briefing created" derived from New
- "Design in progress" derived from In Progress
- "Draft available" derived from Feedback
- "Finalized" derived from Resolved
- "Closed" derived from Closed
- "Later" derived from Backlog
By adjusting the task statuses, the company can better map and track progress in specific task types.
Creation of a new task status: "Briefing created"

New task statuses can be created and customized in the Administration area under Task settings. Here is an example of the creation of the "Briefing created" status for a design task:
- Select icon: Select a suitable icon for the task status, for example a document icon.
- Assign aname: Enter the new task status "Briefing created".
- Select type: Select the default status New as the basis for the new status.
Example of the new task status:
- Name: Briefing created
- Type: New
- Icon: A document icon
Once the new task status has been created, it can be used directly in the workflow and linked to the associated tasks.
