In Leadtime, work activities can be customized to fit a company's specific workflows and processes. Customizing work activities ensures that time bookings on tasks are precise and traceable. Each activity reflects the specific type of work performed, promoting transparency in the use of resources.

Purpose and benefits
Customizing work activities offers many advantages:
- Transparent time recording: by clearly assigning time bookings to specific activities, resource utilization can be monitored more efficiently.
- Flexibility: Companies can define their own activities that correspond to their individual processes.
- Reporting: Detailed time reports help to track costs and workload for different projects and activities more accurately.
Standard work activities
The following work activities are defined by default in Leadtime:
- Development: time bookings for software development tasks.
- Testing: Time bookings for all activities related to quality assurance.
- Management: For management tasks such as project management or communication.
- Research: For all tasks in the area of information search or preparations.
Customizing work activities

Adding a new activity
- Go to Administration > Work activities.
- Click on the "Create" button to add a new activity.
- Give it a suitable name, e.g. Risk assessment.
- Optionally, you can also add an English translation, e.g. "Risk Assessment".
- Click on "Save" to create the new activity.
Edit an existing activity
- You can select and edit existing entries in the list of work activities.
- Click on the pencil icon next to the activity you want to change.
- Edit the name and translation as required.
- Save the changes.
Example of a user-defined activity
Suppose a company needs a specific activity for risk assessments in projects. The activity can be created as follows:
- Navigate to Work activities and click on "Create".
- Assign the name Risk Assessment and optionally the translation Risk Assessment.
- Save the new activity, which can then be used for time bookings.
