The editor in Leadtime is block-based.
Block-based editors offer a modern and flexible way of creating and organizing content that differs from traditional rich text editors. They are particularly common in content management systems, task management tools and collaborative platforms. These editors allow users to structure content in the form of blocks and offer numerous advantages.

Basic functionality
The editor in Leadtime breaks content down into individual blocks, each of which can have a specific function or display type. Examples of such blocks are
- Text blocks: For inserting paragraphs, headings or quotations.
- Media blocks: For adding images, videos, files or embedded media content.
- List blocks: Unordered or numbered lists for structuring information.
- Special blocks: Code blocks, tables or checklists for specific requirements.
The user can choose between different block types and arrange them flexibly. Each block can be edited separately, moved via drag and drop, deleted or formatted, which enables an intuitive and clear design of the content.
The elements of the editor
The editor in Leadtime makes it possible to design the task description flexibly. By entering a slash ("/") in the editor , you can call up a menu with different block types:

👉Paragraph: Normal text paragraphs to describe the task.

Heading 1-3: Different levels of headings to structure the text.

👉 Horizontal Rule: Inserts a horizontal dividing line.

👉 Blockquote: Highlight quotes or important information.

👉 Lists
👉 Bullet List: An unordered list with bullet points.

👉 Ordered List: A numbered list to organize steps.

👉 Special blocks
👉 Emojis: You can insert an emoji here. Shortcut is colon ": "
👉 Mention: Here you can mention another Leadtime user. They will receive a notification. The shortcut is "@"
👉 Task: Here you can set a link to another task. Short command is exclamation mark "!"
👉 Callout: A highlighted section to emphasize important information or notes.

👉 Image, video, file: Include images, videos or files in the description to illustrate the task or provide relevant information.

Table: Create tables to organize information.

👉 Code: Use this block to insert code snippets or commands.

👉 Collapse: Collapsible sections to make longer content clearer.

👉 Embed Video: Enables the embedding of videos from external sources. This is necessary if a video exceeds the permitted file size of 50 MB.
👉 File: Allows you to attach files.
