Creating a ticket (also known as a task) in Leadtime is the central process for managing and delegating work steps and making the progress of a project visible. Here we explain how ticket creation works and what options are available in the block-based editor.

The dialog window for creating tickets consists of several sections, which are described in detail below. If you do not select an icon, Leadtime will try to select a suitable emoji.

Icon and title

Icon: Select an icon that visually matches the task to make the task overview easier.

Title: Enter the title of the task here. If you leave the field empty, the title is automatically generated via AI based on the task description.

Description

Use this text field to describe the task in detail. The editor supports various blocks to make the description clear and concise (see section Block-based editor).

Side column

Project

Select the project to which the task belongs. This is necessary to place the task in the correct context and to monitor progress.

Type

The task type defines which category the task is assigned to. Typical options are, for example, management, development, testing or support. This helps with the organization and structuring of tasks.

Status

The status shows the current processing stage of the task. Typical examples are New, In progress and Completed.

Priority

Here you define how important the task is. The priority can range from Low to High and controls how quickly the task should be processed.

Assigned to

Tasks are usually completed on a shared basis and passed back and forth between the participants. The "Assigned to" field shows who is currently assigned to continue working on the task.

Summary

The summary is a short form of the description text. You can either write it yourself or have it generated automatically via AI based on the task description. It summarizes the core of the task in short words to make it easier to get an overview.

Deadline

Enter the due date of the task here to ensure that the task is completed on time.

Estimate

Enter the estimated working time in hours required to complete the task here.

Responsible

The person responsible bears the main responsibility for completing the task.

Note: The "Responsible" field does not describe who has to complete the next step in the task - this is the purpose of the "Assigned to" field. The purpose here is to define a person who is generally responsible for completing the task - for example, a specific clerk.

Tags

Use tags to further categorize the task and make it easier to find in the task list.

Subtasks

Here you can add subtasks that represent specific subtasks of the main task.
