Tab Overview
🟥 Reference to the Overview tab in the "Projects" area
This text is a reference. What types of text are there?
This chapter of the documentation deals with the central "Projects" area in Leadtime - and specifically with the "Overview" tab, which is the first tab you see after selecting a project. The project overview is the operational heart of Leadtime and provides quick access to all internal and external projects of a company.
Project list at a glance

If you navigate to the Projects area in the main menu, a two-part view opens:
Left column: Filters & Categories
Here you will find various filter options for categorizing and navigating through all existing projects:
- Favorites
All projects that have been marked with a star by the user appear here - ideal for projects that are currently being worked on.
- All projects
A complete list of all the company's projects.
- Internal projects
- Internal individual projects: e.g. development of a new product - budgeted, completed.
- Internal ongoing projects: e.g. marketing or accounting - ongoing activities.
Subdivided into:
- External projects
- External individual projects: classic customer projects with a defined start and end.
- External ongoing projects: e.g. support requests that are continuously processed and regularly invoiced.
Two sub-categories here too:
- Value group
- A: Direct value-adding activities (e.g. customer projects)
- B: Indirectly value-adding (e.g. marketing, product development)
- C: Non-value-adding (e.g. accounting)
- D: Waste (e.g. unproductive time, voluntarily documented)
Each project is assigned to one of four value groups:
Project list in the main area
Depending on your selection, you will see a list of projects, e.g. your favorites, in the right-hand section of the project overview. The table includes the following columns:
- Short name (e.g. ECST-1)
Automatically generated from the name of the organization + consecutive number.
- Project name (e.g. EcoConstruct Support)
Freely selectable when creating the project.
- Status (e.g. sales, billing)
Represents the current phase in the project life cycle.
- Value group (A-D, see above)
- Type (Single or Continuous)
Overview" tab in the project

If you click on a project in the list, you are taken directly to the project view and then to the "Overview" tab. This page also has a two-column structure:
Left column: Basic information
- Short name: Identification of the project.
- Type: Single or ongoing project.
- Category: Definable via the workspace settings (e.g. setup, support).
- Status: e.g. sales, implementation, billing - freely configurable.
- Organization: Ordering company.
- Value group: A-D (see above).
- Members: Teams that have access to the project.
- External access: Indicates whether external users (e.g. customers) have access.
Right column: Project status & key performance indicators
Key project figures can be found here:
- Status: Current status according to project phase.
- Total time: Hours booked on the project so far.
- Total estimate: Originally planned project duration in hours.
- Average weekly time: Important information for capacity planning.
- Brief description: Project summary - used in documents, for example.
- Graphic: Time expenditure over weeks
A cumulative timeline visualizes the actual hours spent per week. Compared to the original estimate, you can see whether the project is on schedule or in danger of exceeding the budget.
Conclusion
The project overview is the central entry point for operational project management in Leadtime. It offers both an overview and depth of detail and makes work easier thanks to clear structures, smart filters and visual evaluations - regardless of whether it is a customer project, internal project or ongoing task.
