Testcase Management
🟩 Workshop 13: How to simplify acceptance by the customer with integrated test case management

Acceptance tests and integrated test case management
Why structured acceptance tests are important
Before a project is officially completed and invoiced, it is usually subject to acceptance by the customer. The client checks whether the delivered system meets the agreed requirements. These requirements should be clearly defined in the specifications or in the offer.
In practice, acceptance is often neglected or only carried out superficially. Many customers test "exploratively", without a plan - which leads to critical problems only becoming apparent during live operation. This can be expensive.
Leadtime therefore offers integrated test case management that allows you to incorporate systematic acceptance tests directly into the course of the project - professionally, in a structured manner and traceable for all parties involved.
How test case management works in Leadtime
Acceptance tests as a work package
In Leadtime, you can create your own test packages for acceptance testing. These special work packages contain acceptance tests that check predefined scenarios - e.g. "Display & layout on desktop" or "Form submission works without errors".
These tests do not appear in the ticket as a normal description or checklist, but as a separate test list that must be completed and evaluated.
Example: "Overall acceptance"

In the example project, a work package with the title "Overall acceptance" is created. This package contains several individual steps, including
- Visual check on desktop
- Responsiveness on mobile devices
- Click paths and navigation
- Technical function tests
Each test is individually documented - with description, test steps and expected result.
Evaluate test

Click on "Evaluate" to open the evaluation dialog:
- Description: What is to be tested?
- Steps: How exactly does the test work?
- Expected result: When is the test considered passed?
- Evaluation:
- ✅ Passed
- 😐 Passed with restrictions
- Failed ❌ Failed
- Comment: Free text field for notes or observations
If a test is not passed, a bug ticket should be created immediately afterwards. This way, the error remains documented and can be rectified before the go-live.
