One of Leadtime's core tasks is ongoing capacity management within the company: This involves planning week by week so that as much work as possible can be completed with the available employees. To do this, the system needs to know which employees are available for work on which days. One factor here is the regional public holidays.
With Leadtime, it is possible to apply different public holiday regulations depending on the employee's location. This is particularly useful if you work with an international team or outsourcing partners abroad.
Managing public holidays
To store the general public holiday policy for your company, navigate to
Administration/Workspace Settings/Holidays
Under Standard public holiday regulations, select the public holiday region that should apply to your business in general, for example "Germany - Bavaria" as shown here.

The dates for the public holidays are manually obtained from an external data source and displayed in the table below on the same page.
Manual adjustment of the standard public holiday regulation
With the "Adjust this year" button, it is now possible to plan deviations from this official data source for the company. This means you can delete public holidays or add your own "public holidays" that only apply to your company.

It is possible to apply this manual change only to the selected year or to an indefinite period in the future.
Reset this year to default: There is an option to reset all public holiday settings to the default values, which is useful if major changes need to be undone.
Customize the holiday rules for individual users
In international teams, it may be necessary to change the public holiday rules for individual users abroad. The following explains how this works.
Navigate to "Your company / Employees". Select the employee concerned and edit the "Working hours and salary" block in the "Basics" tab.

A dialog box opens in which you can select, among other things, a different public holiday regulation that matches the employee's location (e.g. "Austria", etc.).
Select the appropriate source and click on "Save" to apply the changes.

Check the employee's 👉 team calendar to ensure that the new public holidays have been applied correctly.
Changes are automatically taken into account and the employee is now managed according to the public holidays of the selected country or region.
These steps ensure that the correct public holidays are recorded for the employee according to their location abroad and that vacation planning is adjusted accordingly.
